How we research
- Primary sources first. Card network rules (the Visa Rules, the Mastercard Chargeback Guide, American Express and Discover dispute guides) and processor documentation (Stripe, Shopify, Adyen, PayPal, Braintree). Where a page relies on a secondary source, it says so.
- Dated citations. Every guide, code page and tool lists its sources with the date each was checked, and shows when the page was last reviewed.
- Other companies, in their own words. Facts about competitors come only from their own public pages, each with the page address and the date checked. We don't repeat their marketing statistics.
- AI-assisted, source-checked. We use AI tools to help draft and check pages. Facts are checked against the cited sources before a page is published, and every page is checked against rules that reject competitor claims without a dated source, win-rate claims and guarantees.
What we don't publish
- Win rates or promised outcomes. The cardholder's bank decides each dispute under card network rules. Calculators show estimates from the numbers you enter.
- Made-up social proof. No testimonials, customer counts, ratings or logos until they are real.
- "Best" or "first" claims. Where people ask which tool is best, we give criteria instead.
Keeping it current
Card networks and processors change their rules, and competitors change their prices. We update a page when a cited source changes, aim to re-check competitor pricing every quarter, and change the review date when we do. Rule changes we have tracked include Visa retiring 12.1 Late Presentment in favour of 11.3, and the April 2026 change to Visa's VAMP Excessive level.
Our interest
Verdikx Research is part of Verdikx, which sells fraud prevention and chargeback software. Pages that mention Verdikx say what it does and doesn't do, and comparison pages cite every claim about another company.

Frequently asked questions
Who writes the Verdikx guides and reason-code pages?
Verdikx does, under the Verdikx Research byline. Pages are credited to the team rather than to individuals, and we don't claim credentials we can't show. Each page lists its sources and the date it was last reviewed.
Where do the facts on Verdikx's pages come from?
Wherever we can, from primary sources: the Visa Rules, the Mastercard Chargeback Guide, American Express and Discover dispute guides, and processor documentation from Stripe, Shopify, Adyen, PayPal and Braintree. Facts about other companies come only from their own public pages, each with the date we checked it.
Does Verdikx publish win rates or promise outcomes?
No. The cardholder's bank decides each dispute under card network rules, so we publish no win rates, recovery rates or outcome guarantees. Our calculators show estimates from the numbers you enter, and Verdikx does not reimburse chargebacks.
How do I report a mistake on a Verdikx page?
Tell us through the contact page with the page address and what is wrong. We check it against the source, correct the page and update its review date.
