How WooPayments disputes work
When a cardholder disputes a WooPayments charge, the disputed amount and a dispute fee are taken from your balance. The fee varies by country and payment method (see WooCommerce's fees page). The only way to get the disputed amount and the fee back is to challenge the dispute with evidence and win.
- Response window: usually 7 to 21 days after the dispute is filed.
- One submission: once evidence is submitted, there is no way to correct or amend it. WooPayments lets you Save for later until you are ready.
- Bank review: usually 60 to 75 days after you submit.
- Inquiries: pre-dispute requests, mainly from American Express and Discover, can be resolved without an additional fee by sending evidence or issuing a full refund.
What Verdikx connects
Verdikx is a fraud, chargeback and dispute platform for e-commerce and SaaS merchants, built by Verdikx LLC (New Jersey, United States). The WooCommerce connection is in beta: fully built and supported, and we work closely with every merchant who connects it.
- Orders, customers and refunds sync into the same evidence and refund-abuse scoring Verdikx uses for Shopify. In a workspace created on verdikx.com, a Read/Write API key lets Verdikx add two order webhooks so new orders are screened about a minute after checkout; with a read-only key, orders sync (and are screened) every 30 minutes. A WooCommerce store added to a Shopify workspace feeds evidence and refund-abuse scoring but is not screened.
- WooPayments disputes are detected and imported when WooPayments is active on the store, linked to the WooCommerce order they name, and listed in Disputes → Cases beside your other disputes.
- Submission: after reviewing a case, you submit the evidence to WooPayments from Verdikx (packet up to 4.5 MB). WooPayments cases are never auto-submitted by Autopilot; you always click submit yourself.
If your WooCommerce store takes payments through another gateway, such as Stripe or Braintree, connect that processor too so its disputes join the same queue.
Plan and requirements
There are two ways in:
- WooCommerce-only stores: Sign up on verdikx.com, choose WooCommerce on Set up your workspace and pay by card. Your WooCommerce store and its WooPayments disputes are included on every plan (Starter $29, Growth $79, Pro $199 a month; 7-day free trial; yearly saves 20%).
- Shopify stores that also run WooCommerce: add the WooCommerce store to your Shopify workspace on the Pro plan.
Good to know
- There are no fulfillment holds, tags or notes in WooCommerce: verdicts and reasons show in Verdikx, and risk rules run on Shopify orders.
- Shopify's own risk analysis and the checkout IP aren't available for WooCommerce orders, and missing data never counts against a buyer.
- Verdikx does not decide disputes or guarantee outcomes; the cardholder's bank does.
- Verdikx never accepts a dispute for you.
Where WooCommerce disputes land
WooPayments cases sit in the same Disputes → Cases queue as your Shopify Payments and other processor disputes, sorted by deadline and filterable by processor or status. Each case shows the next step (link order, build packet, review and submit), a reason-code playbook and a consistency check, and the contradiction finder can flag records that contradict the cardholder's claim before you send anything.
Good evidence for WooCommerce disputes
The common winners are the same as anywhere: proof of delivery with tracking to the billing or confirmed address for item not received claims, the refund or return record for credit-not-processed claims, and prior undisputed orders from the same customer for friendly fraud. Verdikx pulls these from the synced order, refunds and any connected tracking or helpdesk source, and its playbooks show which items are available, partial or missing for the dispute reason.
Connect WooCommerce to Verdikx
- Create or open your workspaceSign up on verdikx.com and choose WooCommerce on Set up your workspace (any plan), or open your Shopify workspace on the Pro plan.
- Create a REST API keyIn WordPress, go to WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API → Add key and create a Read/Write key.
- Open the WooCommerce cardIn Verdikx, open Connections and click Connect WooCommerce.
- Verify and connectEnter your store URL, the consumer key (ck_…) and the consumer secret, then click Verify and connect. In a workspace created on verdikx.com, a Read/Write key gets new orders screened about a minute after checkout; WooPayments disputes import when WooPayments is detected.
Frequently asked questions
Which Verdikx plan includes WooCommerce?
Every plan, when you create the workspace on verdikx.com for a WooCommerce store: the store sync and WooPayments disputes are included from Starter ($29/month, 7-day free trial). Adding WooCommerce to a Shopify workspace needs Pro. The connection is in beta: fully built and supported, with hands-on help from our team.
How long do I have to respond to a WooPayments dispute?
WooCommerce says you usually have between 7 and 21 days after the dispute is filed. The exact due date comes with each dispute, and Verdikx shows it on the case. Once you submit evidence, it cannot be corrected, so review the packet first.
Is the WooPayments dispute fee refunded if I win?
WooCommerce says the only way to get the disputed amount and the dispute fee back is to challenge the dispute with evidence and win. Fees vary by country and payment method, so check WooCommerce's fees page for your store.
Can I use Verdikx with WooCommerce only, without Shopify?
Yes. Sign up on verdikx.com, choose WooCommerce, pay by card and paste your store URL and a Read/Write REST API key. Orders, customers, refunds and WooPayments disputes import, and new orders are screened about a minute after checkout.
Does Verdikx screen WooCommerce orders for fraud?
Yes, in a WooCommerce workspace created on verdikx.com: new orders get a risk score with reasons about a minute after checkout (with a Read/Write key), using customer history, refunds, chargebacks, velocity, order value, email and your Blocked and Trusted lists. Holds and risk rules run on Shopify orders, and a WooCommerce store added to a Shopify workspace is not screened.
See it on your own orders.
Install on Shopify, or create a workspace for WooCommerce, another platform or your processors, and get your first verdicts in minutes. 7-day free trial, no percentage of what you win.
