The short version

Verdikx is a fraud, chargeback and dispute platform for e-commerce and SaaS merchants, made by Verdikx LLC (New Jersey, United States). It installs as a Shopify app, screens new orders for fraud, keeps an evidence record for every order, prepares dispute responses across payment processors and flags returns abuse, on a flat subscription.

Signifyd describes a commerce protection platform with four solutions: Session Intelligence, Account Integrity, Purchase Optimization and Returns Assurance. It states a 100% financial guarantee on approved orders, configurable from fraud-only protection to a total chargeback liability shift, and its pricing page says it charges a percentage of the order total when an order is approved.

These are two different models. A guarantee model takes the fraud decision and the fraud loss off your hands in exchange for a fee on every approved order: Signifyd approves or declines, and reimburses approved orders that turn out to be fraud under its guarantee terms. A tool model, like Verdikx, gives you the signals, evidence and drafts, charges a flat fee, and leaves the decision and the liability with you. If a fraudulent order gets through Verdikx screening and becomes a chargeback, the loss is yours; Verdikx helps you fight it, but does not reimburse it.

Both models look at every order before it ships. On Growth and Pro, Verdikx scores each new order after it is placed, never at checkout, and holds High-risk orders for your review; it never cancels an order on its own, and a cancel is always yours after a confirmation. Its cost isn't a percentage of sales; it changes only if you move to a plan with a higher order limit.

How to choose

  1. Price both models on your own numbers. Multiply your monthly approved order value by any percentage you are quoted, then compare it with a flat plan on the pricing page plus the fraud chargebacks you would still absorb.
  2. Decide who should own the decision. Under a guarantee, the provider approves or declines. With Verdikx you see a risk score with plain-English reasons and decide; Verdikx holds risky orders and never cancels one on its own.
  3. Look beyond fraud chargebacks. Many disputes are "item not received" or "not as described" claims. Check how each tool helps you fight those, not only stolen-card fraud.
  4. Check platforms and processors. Confirm your storefront and every processor you use are supported, and at what maturity, on Connections.
  5. Ask what happens at renewal. For any quote-based or percentage pricing, ask how the rate is set and reviewed.

When Signifyd is the better choice

  • You want a financial guarantee: Signifyd states it guarantees approved orders, so fraud chargebacks on those orders are its loss, not yours.
  • You run a large or complex operation on platforms such as Adobe Commerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud or NetSuite, which Signifyd lists as pre-built integrations.
  • You sell on a platform Verdikx doesn't connect to yet (Verdikx connects Shopify, WooCommerce (beta), BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, Magento 2, commercetools, VTEX and Miva (direct, beta); marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay and Etsy are coming soon).
  • You want account-level protection (Signifyd lists Account Integrity and Session Intelligence) as well as checkout decisions.

When Verdikx is the better choice

  • You want a flat, predictable cost instead of a percentage of every approved order, with a 7-day free trial, and Verdikx takes no cut of what you win back.
  • You want to keep control of approvals: Verdikx explains risk in plain English. Verdikx never cancels an order on its own. With order screening (Growth and up), it holds risky Shopify orders and orders from customers you block, and you decide whether to cancel. Autopilot never accepts a dispute.
  • Your disputes are mostly friendly fraud, "item not received" or "not as described", where evidence and well-written responses matter more than a fraud guarantee. See friendly fraud.
  • You want refund and returns abuse reviewed in the same tool, with a recommendation and reasons on each return request.
  • You want dispute responses for several processors in one inbox, with AI-assisted drafts you can review.

Verdikx does not guarantee dispute outcomes or reimburse chargebacks: banks and card networks decide disputes.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Signifyd and Verdikx?

Signifyd is a guaranteed fraud-decisioning platform: it approves or declines orders and states a financial guarantee on approved orders, priced as a percentage of approved order value. Verdikx is a flat-priced Shopify app that screens orders with explained risk scores, builds dispute evidence and AI-assisted responses, and flags returns abuse, while the merchant keeps decisions and liability.

Does Verdikx have a chargeback guarantee?

No. Verdikx does not reimburse chargebacks or guarantee dispute outcomes, because banks and card networks decide disputes. If a fraudulent order gets through and becomes a chargeback, the loss is yours, and Verdikx helps you fight it. If transferring fraud liability is your priority, a guarantee provider such as Signifyd may suit you better. Verdikx focuses on flat pricing, explainable screening and stronger dispute responses that you control.

Who decides whether a risky order ships: Signifyd or Verdikx?

With Signifyd, Signifyd decides: its pricing page describes charging on approved orders and nothing on declined ones, and its guarantee backs its approvals. With Verdikx, you decide: each order gets a 0 to 100 score with plain-English reasons after it is placed and before it ships, High-risk orders are held for your review, and Verdikx never cancels an order on its own: a cancel is always yours, after a confirmation.

How does Signifyd pricing work?

Signifyd's pricing page says it charges a percentage of the order total when an order is approved and nothing when an order is declined. The exact percentage depends on factors such as product, merchant vertical, order volume and average ticket, so you need a quote. Signifyd's Shopify listing shows a 14-day free trial.

Can I use Verdikx and Signifyd together?

You can pair a guarantee provider for checkout fraud with a separate tool for non-fraud disputes. Verdikx can take chargeback notices from any processor by email or CSV and prepare responses for them. Check that both tools do not act on the same orders, for example by cancelling or holding them, before running them side by side.

Is a percentage-of-orders model more expensive than a flat fee?

It depends on volume and order value. A percentage of approved orders grows with sales, while a flat plan stays the same until you change tiers. Run both on your last three months of orders, and include the fraud chargebacks you would still absorb without a guarantee, before deciding.
