The short version

Verdikx is a fraud, chargeback and dispute platform for e-commerce and SaaS merchants, made by Verdikx LLC (New Jersey, United States). It installs as a Shopify app, screens new orders for fraud, keeps an evidence record for every order, prepares dispute responses across payment processors and flags returns abuse, on a flat subscription.

ChargePay's Shopify App Store listing ("ChargePay-Chargeback AI Agent") describes fraud screening, chargeback alerts, prevention AI, order validation, evidence tailored to issuer reason codes and an analytics dashboard. It says every plan includes unlimited chargebacks, an agentic AI model and fully automated chargeback recovery. It lists four plans, Basic $19.99, Grow $39.99, Advanced $79.99 and Plus $99.99 a month, each tied to a Shopify plan tier and each with a 7-day free trial; yearly billing saves 20%. Alerts cost extra when they are enabled: $29 per Ethoca alert and $19 per RDR or CDRN alert.

How the prices compare

Both are subscriptions, so neither takes a share of what you win back. On listed prices, ChargePay costs less: its plans run from $19.99 to $99.99 a month, and Verdikx's from $29 (Starter) to $199 (Pro); yearly billing saves 20% on both. ChargePay's entry plan includes unlimited chargebacks. On Verdikx, Starter covers Shopify dispute evidence, with AI drafts and the AI claim check for 10 cases a month; order screening before you ship, returns-abuse review and unlimited AI drafts and AI claim checks (fair use) start on Growth at $79. ChargePay charges per alert when alerts are enabled; Verdikx's Visa RDR and Mastercard Ethoca alerts are coming soon, and Stripe early fraud warnings with auto-refund policies are included from Growth.

The plans are also set differently: ChargePay ties each plan to a Shopify plan tier, while a Verdikx plan is chosen by its features and its monthly screened-order limit.

How to choose

  1. List what you need in one tool. If dispute recovery on every chargeback is the main job, compare the entry plans. If you also want screening before you ship and returns-abuse review, compare the plans that include them.
  2. Add alert fees. If you will enable alerts, multiply the alerts you expect by ChargePay's per-alert prices.
  3. Decide how much control you want over submissions. ChargePay describes fully automated recovery. Verdikx Autopilot submits only inside limits you set and where the processor allows it; otherwise you review and confirm each response.
  4. Check your processors and platform. Confirm each processor you use, and at what maturity (live, beta or coming soon), on Connections.

When ChargePay is the better choice

  • You want a lower subscription price: ChargePay's plans start at $19.99 a month, below Verdikx Starter at $29.
  • You want ChargePay's unlimited chargebacks and fully automated recovery on the entry plan; Verdikx Starter includes AI drafts and the AI claim check for 10 cases a month.
  • You want Visa RDR, CDRN and Mastercard Ethoca alerts today, paid per alert; Verdikx's Visa RDR and Mastercard Ethoca alerts are coming soon.
  • You need a direct PayPal connection today: ChargePay's Shopify listing names PayPal as a processor, while Verdikx's direct PayPal connection is coming soon.

When Verdikx is the better choice

  • You want the final say on risky orders: from Growth up, Verdikx scores each order after it is placed and before it ships, with plain-English reasons, holds High-risk orders for your review and never cancels an order on its own.
  • You want refund and returns abuse reviewed in the same tool, with a recommendation and reasons on each return request (Growth and up).
  • You want to stay in control: nothing is submitted unless you confirm it or have turned on Autopilot rules. Verdikx never cancels an order on its own. With order screening (Growth and up), it holds risky Shopify orders and orders from customers you block, and you decide whether to cancel. Autopilot never accepts a dispute.
  • You also take payments through Adyen, Checkout.com or Authorize.net (beta) and want every dispute in one inbox, including chargeback notices from any processor or bank by email or CSV.
  • You want cross-store fraud signals on your terms: the Verdikx Network is opt-in, shares outcomes as keyed hashes rather than customer data, and flags a shopper only after three other participating merchant accounts report them.

Verdikx does not guarantee dispute outcomes: banks and card networks decide disputes.

Frequently asked questions

Is ChargePay cheaper than Verdikx?

On listed prices, yes. ChargePay's Shopify listing shows plans from $19.99 to $99.99 a month, and Verdikx's are Starter $29, Growth $79 and Pro $199 a month; neither takes a share of what you win back. Every ChargePay plan includes unlimited chargebacks and fully automated recovery, with alert fees when alerts are enabled. On Verdikx, Starter covers Shopify dispute evidence, with AI drafts and the AI claim check for 10 cases a month; order screening before you ship, returns-abuse review and unlimited AI drafts and AI claim checks (fair use) start on Growth at $79.

Does ChargePay screen orders like Verdikx?

ChargePay's Shopify listing names fraud screening and order validation; it does not say when screening runs or who decides on a risky order. Verdikx screens from Growth up: every new order is scored after it is placed and before it ships, with plain-English reasons, and High-risk orders are held for your decision rather than cancelled.

Does Verdikx have Ethoca and RDR alerts like ChargePay?

Not yet. Card-network alerts (Visa RDR and Mastercard Ethoca) are coming soon to Verdikx. Today Verdikx brings Stripe early fraud warnings into one inbox and can refund them automatically under policies you set, on the Growth and Pro plans. ChargePay's listing charges $29 per Ethoca alert and $19 per RDR or CDRN alert when alerts are enabled.

Can I switch from ChargePay to Verdikx?

Yes. Install Verdikx from the Shopify App Store, connect your processors, and new disputes start arriving in Verdikx. Disputes already submitted through another tool stay with the bank until they are decided. You can run both on new disputes during the trial, then cancel whichever you do not keep. Check your other tool's terms before cancelling.
