Frequently asked questions
What does Discover reason code DC mean?
Discover DC means Discover found that the acquirer or merchant violated its operating regulations, for example by operating in a prohibited category or failing to supply required documents in time. Chase calls it Violation of Operating Regulations and lists no representment rights beyond proving a credit was issued.
Is Discover DC worth fighting?
Our reference rates DC (Dispute Compliance) usually one to accept: a response rarely changes the outcome. The evidence that answers it starts with proof of credit, if issued. The cardholder's bank decides the outcome.
How long does a cardholder have to file a Discover DC chargeback?
Usually 120 days from the transaction date, under the network's issuer time limits for most codes. Your processor gives you far less time to respond, so work from the due date on the case.
