Frequently asked questions
What does Discover reason code RN2 mean?
Discover RN2 means the cardholder says a credit you promised was never processed, often after a return or refused delivery. Win with proof the goods were never returned, that store credit was issued under your published policy, that a refund already posted, or that the cardholder did not cancel a reservation under your policy.
Is Discover RN2 worth fighting?
Our reference rates RN2 (Credit Not Processed) sometimes winnable, depending on the evidence you have. The evidence that answers it starts with return records showing no item came back. The cardholder's bank decides the outcome.
How long does a cardholder have to file a Discover RN2 chargeback?
Usually 120 days from the transaction date, under the network's issuer time limits for most codes. Your processor gives you far less time to respond, so work from the due date on the case.
