Frequently asked questions
What does Discover reason code UA10 mean?
Discover UA10 is a fraud-related request in which the issuer asks for the receipt and documents for a card-present transaction the cardholder says was fraudulent. Treat it as an inquiry: a legible, signed receipt and the authorization record, sent on time, can stop a chargeback. Online stores rarely see it.
Is Discover UA10 worth fighting?
Our reference rates UA10 (Request Transaction Receipt (swiped card transactions)) sometimes winnable, depending on the evidence you have. The evidence that answers it starts with authorization record. The cardholder's bank decides the outcome.
How long does a cardholder have to file a Discover UA10 chargeback?
Usually 120 days from the transaction date, under the network's issuer time limits for most codes. Your processor gives you far less time to respond, so work from the due date on the case.
