| Feature | Verdikx | Chargeback.io |
|---|---|---|
| Fraud screening before fulfillment | Yes, on Growth and up: after the order is placed and before it ships (Verdikx never blocks checkout), a 0 to 100 risk score with plain-English reasons on new Shopify orders, IP intelligence, a storefront device pixel, blocklists and Verdikx Network history; High-risk orders are held for your review, and custom risk rules are on Pro | Not publicly stated |
| Who decides on a risky order | You do. Verdikx scores the order and explains why, holds High-risk orders for your review (on by default) and runs rules you write on Pro. Autopilot never accepts a dispute | Not publicly stated |
| Shared merchant network | Opt-in Verdikx Network (new, so signals are few at first): stores that join share chargeback and refund-abuse outcomes as keyed one-way hashes (HMAC-SHA256), never raw customer data; a shopper is flagged only once three other participating merchant accounts report them, and your decisions and blocklists are never shared | Not publicly stated |
| Chargeback management | Yes: an evidence record for every order, AI-assisted drafts and submission for Shopify Payments and Stripe (live), more processors in beta, and chargebacks from any processor or bank by email or CSV | Not publicly stated |

| Card-network alerts | Stripe early fraud warnings with auto-refund policies (live, Growth and up); Visa RDR and Mastercard Ethoca alerts coming soon | Ethoca (Mastercard), RDR (Visa, auto refund only) and CDRN (Visa, US only); it describes itself as an official Verifi partner and an official Ethoca partner[1] |

BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, Magento 2, commercetools, VTEX and Miva connect directly (beta); marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay and Etsy coming soon | Not publicly stated |

The short version
Verdikx is a fraud, chargeback and dispute platform for e-commerce and SaaS merchants, made by Verdikx LLC (New Jersey, United States). It installs as a Shopify app, screens new orders for fraud, keeps an evidence record for every order, prepares dispute responses across payment processors and flags returns abuse, on a flat subscription.
Chargeback.io's pricing page sells alerts that prevent chargebacks: $29 per Ethoca (Mastercard) alert, $15 per RDR (Visa) alert and $15 per CDRN (Visa, US only) alert. RDR alerts are marked "Auto refund only". It says you pay only when it helps prevent a chargeback, and that duplicate or unhelpful alerts are not billed. It names Stripe, Shopify Payments and Airwallex among the processors it works with, plus Slack and Zapier, and calls itself an official Verifi and Ethoca partner. The page does not state a monthly minimum, a contract term or a free trial, and it does not show a service for answering chargebacks.
The two work at different moments. A pre-dispute alert arrives after a cardholder contacts their bank and before a chargeback is filed, and refunding at that point usually ends the dispute (see Rapid Dispute Resolution and Ethoca alerts). Verdikx works before and after that moment: it screens orders before they ship, keeps an evidence record for every order, and prepares responses for the chargebacks that do arrive. Verdikx's Visa RDR and Mastercard Ethoca alerts are coming soon.
The cost models differ too. Per-alert pricing follows your alert volume. A Verdikx plan is a subscription that stays the same however many disputes you answer, and it takes no share of what you win back.
How to choose
- Count your alerts and disputes. Multiply the Ethoca, RDR and CDRN alerts you expect by Chargeback.io's per-alert prices, then compare with a plan on the pricing page.
- Decide what you need first. If refunding before a dispute is filed would stop most of your losses, alerts come first. If you also need to screen orders and answer chargebacks with evidence, compare those.
- Ask how the chargebacks that still arrive are answered. Chargeback.io's pricing page does not show a service for it.
- Check your processors. Confirm each processor you use is supported, and at what maturity, on Connections.
When Chargeback.io is the better choice
- You want Visa and Mastercard pre-dispute alerts today, paid per alert; Verdikx's Visa RDR and Mastercard Ethoca alerts are coming soon.
- You want to pay only when an alert helps prevent a chargeback, with duplicate or unhelpful alerts not billed.
- You want a Slack integration: Chargeback.io names Slack among its integrations.
When Verdikx is the better choice
- You need the chargebacks that still arrive answered: Verdikx keeps an evidence record for every order and prepares responses with AI-assisted drafts you review.
- You want order screening before you ship and returns-abuse checks in the same subscription as dispute responses, with plain-English reasons for every risk score.
- You want to stay in control: nothing is submitted unless you confirm it or have turned on Autopilot rules. Verdikx never cancels an order on its own. With order screening (Growth and up), it holds risky Shopify orders and orders from customers you block, and you decide whether to cancel. Autopilot never accepts a dispute.
- You take chargebacks from several processors and want them in one inbox, including notices forwarded by email or uploaded as CSV.
Verdikx does not guarantee dispute outcomes: banks and card networks decide disputes.

Verdikx plans are subscriptions: Starter $29, Growth $79 and Pro $199 a month, with yearly billing saving 20% and a 7-day free trial. Does Verdikx have Ethoca and RDR alerts like Chargeback.io?
Not yet. Card-network alerts (Visa RDR and Mastercard Ethoca) are coming soon to Verdikx. Today Verdikx brings Stripe early fraud warnings into one inbox and can refund them automatically under policies you set, on the Growth and Pro plans. Chargeback.io's pricing page lists Ethoca, RDR and CDRN alerts now.
Does Chargeback.io answer chargebacks?
Its pricing page does not show a service for answering chargebacks; it prices alerts that prevent them. Verdikx keeps an evidence record for every order, prepares AI-assisted drafts you review, and takes chargeback notices from any processor or bank by email or CSV. Ask Chargeback.io directly if you need both from one vendor.
Can I use Chargeback.io and Verdikx together?
Alerts and dispute management cover different moments: an alert lets you refund before a chargeback is filed, and dispute management answers the chargebacks that still arrive. If you run both, check that their auto-refund rules do not act on the same orders.
