The alternatives at a glance
| Tool | What it is | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| NoFraud (now Wyllo) | Now branded Wyllo (formerly NoFraud + Yofi) on the Shopify App Store. Describes payment fraud protection, bot and reseller detection and return fraud prevention, with a guarantee on fraud chargebacks it passed in paid plans. The listing shows a free Screening Only plan and guarantee plans from $250 a month.[3] | Shopify stores that want a fraud chargeback guarantee with listed plan prices. |
| Riskified | Its Shopify listing describes real-time AI fraud decisions, full chargeback protection on every transaction, Policy Protect for refund and return abuse, and chargeback recovery automation. | ClearSale | Fraud screening that combines AI with review by fraud specialists, a reimbursement guarantee on approved orders that turn out fraudulent, and a dispute handling service (Chargeback Ops). Why merchants look for Signifyd alternatives
Signifyd describes a commerce protection platform with four solutions: Session Intelligence, Account Integrity, Purchase Optimization and Returns Assurance. It states it backs its decisions with a financial guarantee on every approved order, and its pricing page says it charges a percentage of the order total when an order is approved, with the rate set after an assessment rather than published.
Merchants usually compare alternatives for one of three reasons: they want a different guarantee or pricing model, they want to see and make the decision on risky orders themselves, or they want screening, disputes and returns abuse handled in one place.
Verdikx
Verdikx is a fraud, chargeback and dispute platform for e-commerce and SaaS merchants, made by Verdikx LLC (New Jersey, United States). It installs as a Shopify app, screens new orders for fraud, keeps an evidence record for every order, prepares dispute responses across payment processors and flags returns abuse, on a flat subscription.
- Pricing: flat plans (Starter $29, Growth $79, Pro $199 a month; yearly saves 20%), each with a 7-day free trial. Not a percentage of order value, and no cut of recovered chargebacks. See pricing.
- Decisions: order screening after the order is placed and before it ships gives a 0 to 100 score with plain-English reasons. Verdikx never cancels an order on its own. With order screening (Growth and up), it holds risky Shopify orders and orders from customers you block, and you decide whether to cancel. Autopilot never accepts a dispute.
- Scope: chargeback management with AI-assisted drafts and returns-abuse review in the same app.
- Coverage: Verdikx connects Shopify, WooCommerce (beta), BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, Magento 2, commercetools, VTEX and Miva (direct, beta); marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay and Etsy are coming soon. Verdikx does not guarantee outcomes or reimburse chargebacks: you keep the fraud liability and the decision.
How to choose
- Decide between a guarantee and control. Guarantee providers make or back the decision on the orders they approve and cover some chargebacks on them. A screening tool like Verdikx explains the risk and leaves the decision, and the liability, with you.
- Model the cost on your real numbers. For pricing based on approved orders or revenue, multiply that value by the rate; for a subscription, compare the monthly price.
- Split your chargebacks by reason. Guarantees typically cover fraud on approved orders. Friendly fraud and "item not received" disputes usually need evidence. See friendly fraud.
- Check platforms and processors before you migrate.
When Signifyd is still the better choice
- You want a provider to shift fraud liability for the orders it approves.
- You need a pre-built integration with Salesforce Commerce Cloud or NetSuite, which Verdikx doesn't connect.
When Verdikx is the better choice
- You want a fixed monthly cost instead of a percentage of approved orders.
- You want to see why an order scored high and decide yourself.
- You want screening, disputes and returns abuse in one app, with no revenue share.
| Option | How it charges | Published price | What it covers |

| ClearSale | Only for orders it approves; declined orders cost nothing | Growth plans from $250 a month | Reimburses approved orders that turn out fraudulent |
