BigCommerce chargebacks and fraud
a direct BigCommerce connection, in beta

Verdikx connects to BigCommerce directly, in beta: a store-level API account syncs orders, shipments, refunds and customers into the same risk screening and dispute evidence Verdikx uses for Shopify. Disputes themselves come from your payment processor, which Verdikx connects to or receives by email. Nothing is written back to your BigCommerce store yet.

NewRecently added — we work closely with every merchant who connects it, so questions get a fast answer. Read-only: BigCommerce orders are read for screening and evidence; no order status, note or tag is written to BigCommerce yet.

How chargebacks work on BigCommerce

BigCommerce is a storefront, not the party that decides disputes. Chargebacks are handled by the payment provider your store uses (for example Stripe, Braintree, Adyen or PayPal) and decided by the cardholder's bank under card-network rules. Your response, evidence and deadline all live with that provider. For fraud screening and chargeback management, BigCommerce points merchants to third-party apps in its App Marketplace, such as Signifyd.

That makes the evidence problem the same as on any platform: the order, shipping and customer records sit in BigCommerce, while the dispute sits with the processor. Someone has to bring them together before the deadline.

What the Verdikx connection does

Verdikx is a fraud, chargeback and dispute platform for e-commerce and SaaS merchants, built by Verdikx LLC (New Jersey, United States). The BigCommerce connection is direct (no middleware) and in beta: Beta connections are fully built and supported, and are now opening to their first merchants, so we work closely with every merchant who connects one. Shopify Payments, Stripe and email, CSV and API intake are generally available.

  • Orders, products, shipments and tracking, refunds and customers from BigCommerce feed the same risk screening, refund-abuse scoring and dispute evidence Verdikx uses for Shopify. Orders sync every 30 minutes; new orders are screened at the next sync.
  • Disputes from processors Verdikx connects to are matched against those BigCommerce orders, so packets include order, shipping and refund records instead of payment data alone.
  • Read-only. Verdikx does not change order statuses, add notes or tags in BigCommerce yet: verdicts, reasons and holds are shown in Verdikx and in your alerts.

BigCommerce is a Pro plan feature (commerce channels), like WooCommerce and the other direct store connections.

How to connect

  1. Sign up on verdikx.com, choose Another platform → BigCommerce on Set up your workspace and pay by card.
  2. In BigCommerce, open Settings → API → Store-level API accounts and create an account with the Orders, Customers and Information & settings read-only scopes.
  3. On Connections, paste the store hash and access token. Verdikx verifies them with a live read, stores them encrypted, and imports your recent orders.
  4. Connect your payment processors so their disputes import, or forward chargeback emails for any processor or bank.
  • If you sell on both Shopify and BigCommerce: your Verdikx workspace runs on the Shopify store, and a BigCommerce store connected on Connections syncs into it. On every plan, you can forward chargeback notices from any processor or bank (including those for BigCommerce orders) to your private Verdikx address, or upload a chargeback report CSV. On Growth and Pro, you can connect Stripe (live) or Braintree and Adyen (beta) so their disputes import directly.
  • If you sell only on BigCommerce: Create a workspace on verdikx.com (Another platform → BigCommerce), connect the store and Stripe, Braintree or Adyen, or forward chargeback emails.

What to do while you set up

Most BigCommerce chargebacks are won or lost on the same evidence: delivery proof with tracking, the refund or return record, customer messages, and clear merchant descriptors that reduce "I don't recognize this" claims. Keep those records easy to export, respond inside your processor's window, and track your chargeback ratio against card-network thresholds. Our guide on how to prevent chargebacks covers the steps that apply on any platform.

What it will not do

Verdikx will not decide disputes or guarantee outcomes, and it will not reimburse chargebacks. Banks and card networks decide. Automatic holds and order notes run on Shopify and WooCommerce orders today; BigCommerce orders are screened and flagged in Verdikx, and we will say on this page when write-back to BigCommerce is added.

Frequently asked questions

Does Verdikx work with BigCommerce?

Yes, in beta. A store-level API account connects your BigCommerce store directly: orders, shipments, refunds and customers sync into the same risk screening and dispute evidence Verdikx uses for Shopify. Beta connections are fully built and supported, and are now opening to their first merchants, so we work closely with every merchant who connects one. Shopify Payments, Stripe and email, CSV and API intake are generally available. Nothing is written back to BigCommerce yet.

Who handles chargebacks on a BigCommerce store?

Your payment provider. BigCommerce is the storefront; disputes are raised through the processor that took the payment, such as Stripe, Braintree, Adyen or PayPal, and the cardholder's bank decides the outcome. You respond through that processor before its deadline.

Can I forward BigCommerce chargeback emails to Verdikx today?

Yes. Create a workspace on verdikx.com (choose Another platform) or use your Shopify workspace: email forwarding and CSV upload work on every plan for notices from any processor or bank. You send the packet to the processor yourself and mark the case as sent.

Which plan is the BigCommerce connection on?

Pro, like WooCommerce and the other direct store connections (commerce channels). Processor disputes, email forwarding and CSV upload work on every plan.
