Common labels and the codes behind them
- fraudulent, unrecognized: a fraud claim, such as Visa 10.4 or Mastercard 4837.
- product_not_received: Visa 13.1, or Mastercard 4853 (goods not provided).
- product_unacceptable: not as described or defective, Visa 13.3 or Mastercard 4853.
- credit_not_processed: Visa 13.6 or Mastercard 4853.
- subscription_canceled: Visa 13.2 or Mastercard 4853.
- duplicate: Visa 12.6.1 or Mastercard 4834.
- general: no specific category; read the network code and the cardholder's claim on the case.
Why the network code matters
Processors show their own labels, but the network condition inside decides what evidence counts. A "fraudulent" dispute needs proof the cardholder took part; a "product not received" dispute needs a carrier delivery scan to the address on the order. If you're not sure which network a card is on, the card network lookup names it from the first digits.
How Verdikx reads them
Verdikx maps each processor's reason onto one dispute category and applies that category's playbook: what evidence wins, what to avoid and the deadline.
