What Visa 13.6 means
The cardholder received a credit or voided transaction receipt that has not been processed. The issuer usually waits 15 days from the credit receipt date before filing.
Common causes
- Refunds approved but not processed, or processed late
- Returns received in the warehouse but not matched to the order
- Refunds issued to a different payment method without telling the customer
- Customers expecting a refund for a return that did not meet the policy
Evidence that answers it
- Refund record showing the date and amount, ideally with the refund's reference number
- Return policy shown at checkout, and records showing the return did not qualify
- Warehouse or returns-app records of what was received and when
- Correspondence about the refund
How to prevent it
- Refund promptly once a return is received and email confirmation
- Reconcile returns daily so no received item waits for a refund
- Explain how long refunds take to appear on statements
Time limits and caveats
Collaboration workflow. The issuer waits 15 days from the date on the credit receipt (unless undated), then files within 120 days of that date, never beyond 540 days from the transaction.
How Verdikx helps with 13.6
Verdikx's credit-not-processed playbook pulls refund records from your processor and return status and outcome (refund, store credit or exchange) from Loop (beta). If a refund was issued before the dispute, the packet leads with its date and amount; if it was not, Verdikx shows that too, so you can refund rather than fight.
