Why explanations matter
A fraud score without a reason forces a guess: hold a good customer, or ship to a fraudster. Verdikx shows why. Every point in the 0 to 100 score comes from a documented rule with a plain-English reason, such as a mismatched billing and shipping country, a Tor exit node, one device behind several orders, or a customer with past chargebacks in the Verdikx Network.
What the AI adds
For orders in Review or High risk, and for orders on hold, AI turns those reasons into a short explanation of what stands out and what to check before you ship. It runs in the background, so screening is never slowed down.
How it is kept honest
- The AI sees only signals Verdikx has already computed, with emails masked, IP addresses reduced to a network prefix, and no names, street addresses, phone or card numbers.
- Every number (network AS numbers included), IP prefix, email address and known place name in the answer must appear in those signals. One unsupported fact rejects the whole answer.
- If the answer is rejected, or AI is unavailable, Verdikx shows a summary built from the rules instead, so there is always an explanation.
Where it fits
Explanations come with order screening on Growth and Pro, next to IP intelligence, device signals, holds and customer risk profiles.
Frequently asked questions
How does Verdikx explain why an order is risky?
Every point in the risk score comes from a documented rule with a plain-English reason. For orders in Review or High risk, AI adds a short explanation built only from those signals and checked against them before you see it.
What happens if the AI gets something wrong?
If the explanation mentions any number, AS network number, IP prefix, email or known place name that is not in the order's signals, the whole answer is rejected and a rule-based summary is shown instead.
Does AI decide whether an order is held?
No. The score and any hold come from documented rules and your settings. The AI only explains the result in plain language.
Which plans include risk explanations?
Order screening, with its reasons and AI explanations, is on Growth and Pro.
