Order screening and verdicts
On Growth and Pro, every new order is screened automatically: Approved, Needs review or High risk, with a 0 to 100 score and plain-English reasons. Approved orders need nothing from you.

When screening runs
Verdikx screens an order after it is placed and before it ships. Shopify sends Verdikx the order webhook the moment the order is created, and the score appears within a few minutes; Shopify's own fraud analysis is checked again shortly after. Verdikx never sits in your checkout, so no shopper is slowed down or declined while paying. The Verdikx storefront pixel records the checkout device when checkout completes; its signals can only add risk, never clear an order.
How it works
Verdikx scores each new order from 0 to 100 using signals such as customer history, velocity, address mismatches, order value, disposable emails, Shopify's own fraud analysis, identity signals and the Verdikx Network. Missing data never counts for or against an order.
Order value is compared with your store's own recent orders once Verdikx has at least 20 of your store's recent orders. That counts the orders Verdikx holds, not your store's lifetime total (on Shopify, Verdikx can usually read only the last 60 days of orders). Until then, order value counts only when all of these are true:
- It's a Shopify order. Orders from other platforms don't carry the shipping details this check reads; an order with no shipping at all (a gift card, say) counts as standard shipping.
- The customer is a first-time customer: no earlier orders in Verdikx, and Shopify's own count of the customer's orders agrees when Shopify has one. The reason says "a customer with no earlier orders Verdikx can see" when Shopify's count can't confirm it.
- The order is larger than every order Verdikx holds for your store.
- The order is at or over a fixed amount: USD 1,000, CAD 1,400, AUD 1,500, NZD 1,700, EUR 900, GBP 800 or CHF 900. These are round numbers chosen on purpose, not exchange-rate conversions.
That adds 5 points, or 15 with express shipping. In any other currency, order value isn't checked until Verdikx has 20 of your store's recent orders.
- Approved: below the review score (30 by default). Nothing to do.
- Needs review: from 30.
- High risk: from 60. Verdikx holds fulfilment of High risk orders automatically (on by default); the Hold column then shows Held automatically.
You never have to approve orders one by one. Only orders marked Needs review or High risk ask for a decision; open Orders needing a decision to see just those.

Make your own call
- Approve order: releases any hold Verdikx placed, removes the tags Verdikx added and sets Verdikx's risk level in Shopify to low. The order then shows Approved by you.
- Hold order: pauses fulfilment in Shopify until you release it (nothing is held if the order has already shipped). The order then shows Marked high risk by you.
Either way Verdikx keeps its original assessment, stops tagging the order and running risk rules on it, and learns from your decision: this customer's later orders show "You approved / flagged this customer before", and orders from other buyers that share this order's details show "Linked to an order you flagged". Your decisions only teach your own store's screening; they are never shared with the Verdikx Network.
Undo my decision
Open Details · Change and click Undo my decision to put the order back on automatic. The status changes at once to Verdikx's own verdict, and Verdikx puts its own hold, tags and Shopify risk level back to what its screening says: a High risk order is held again when automatic holds are on, and a hold Verdikx placed is released when screening wouldn't hold the order. Holds from risk rules, your blocklist, you in Shopify or other apps are left alone.
Find an order
Type the order number as Shopify shows it (#1001 or 1001), the order ID from the order's Shopify address, or the customer's email in Find an order.

Known-offender reorder alerts
When a buyer who has had a chargeback at your store places a new order (Shopify or WooCommerce), Verdikx raises one alert for that order: A buyer with past chargebacks ordered again. Chargebacks count per order: one order with several dispute records counts once. If the order also matches your blocklist, you get the Blocklist match alert instead, which adds the chargeback count, so the order never gets two alerts. A blocklist match alone (for example a shared address or IP) never says the buyer had chargebacks. The order page shows "This buyer has 2 chargebacks at your store" with links to the customer profile and to your decision. It works on every plan with screening, without risk rules. The alert itself never holds or cancels the order; it says if your blocklist or the High-risk hold already did. If the Verdikx Network also flags the buyer, the alert only says so in general terms; nothing about other stores is shown. Webhook subscribers receive order.flagged_known_offender.
