Device signals from the Verdikx storefront pixel
A privacy-respecting device id from checkout links repeat orders from one device and lets you block a device.
Where in VerdikxOrders → Block… → Device
What it does
The Verdikx web pixel runs in your storefront. When a checkout completes, it sends one device identifier: a hash of non-personal browser traits (screen size, time zone, language, graphics renderer, processor cores) and a random id kept in your store's browser storage. It never reads names, emails, addresses, payment details or browsing history.
How Verdikx uses it
- Many orders from one device: counted in Other orders from this device (1h).
- Linked orders: a device shared with a charged-back or flagged order from a different buyer.
- Block a device from an order's Block… menu.
Device signals can only add risk. They never lower a score, can't be added to the Trusted list, and a device is linked to an order only through Shopify's own order record.
Turn it on
- Approve Verdikx's updated permissions (the pixel needs write_pixels and read_customer_events) when Shopify asks.
- Verdikx activates the pixel in your store automatically the next time you open the app.
Privacy
The pixel only sends data when the shopper's analytics consent allows it, through Shopify's customer privacy settings. Each store gets its own hash of the device, so a browser can't be linked across stores.
