Worth fighting? Fight, accept or mark intentional fraud
Each open case weighs the amount, the dispute fee, your handling cost and your evidence, and you can accept a dispute or mark it intentional fraud.

The recommendation
Every open case shows Fight, Consider accepting or Accept, and Every factor lists what it weighed:
- Disputed amount: what a win gets back.
- Processor dispute fee: Stripe reports its fee on each dispute. For Shopify Payments, Verdikx uses Shopify's published chargeback fee for your store's country, with the source and the date it was checked; Shopify returns it if you win. An inquiry carries no chargeback fee, and until Shopify reports whether a case is an inquiry or a chargeback the fee isn't counted. Other processors' fees aren't counted.
- Stripe countering fee: charged when you submit evidence on a card chargeback and returned if you win, so it is lost only if you lose. Stripe doesn't charge it on inquiries, on disputes paid with other methods (such as Klarna or PayPal), or for accounts in Japan, Mexico or Thailand.
- Your handling cost per case: blank until you set it under Automation → Autopilot & screening → Dispute decisions.
- Evidence strength and the reason-code checklist (required items on file).
Accept means your handling cost is at least what a win returns, or you marked the case intentional fraud. Consider accepting means losing would cost at least as much as winning gains, or the evidence is thin. Verdikx never shows a win percentage: banks decide each case.
Accept a dispute
- Open the case and click Accept this dispute (or Accept in Shopify).
- Confirm. Accepting can't be undone and you can't send evidence afterwards.
- Stripe and Braintree: Verdikx closes the dispute for you and the case shows Accepted. It stays accepted whatever Stripe or Braintree reports afterwards, so an accepted case is never counted as a loss or a win. If Stripe or Braintree doesn't answer, Verdikx can't tell whether the accept went through and says so. On Stripe, Verdikx notes your accept first, so if Stripe did close the dispute the case is marked accepted when Stripe reports it; you can also retry (Stripe won't close a dispute twice). On Braintree, check the dispute there before retrying.
- Shopify Payments: Shopify has no way for apps to accept a dispute. Open it in Shopify admin and accept it there, then click Check with Shopify. From the moment you confirm, Autopilot won't submit the case; it is marked accepted only once Shopify reports it.
- Other processors and forwarded cases: accept it with the processor, then record the outcome as Accepted.
Every accept is recorded in the case's audit trail. Autopilot never accepts a dispute.
If the card issuer escalates an inquiry you accepted (or chose to accept in Shopify) to a chargeback, Shopify Payments or Stripe reports it as a new chargeback: Verdikx reopens the case, alerts you (This inquiry became a chargeback) and lets Autopilot and the deadline reminders pick it up again.
Intentional fraud: don't fight
Use Intentional fraud: don't fight for a dispute you know is real fraud. The case leaves Autopilot (a scheduled submission is cancelled) and your win rate, and is left out of won, lost, accepted and money lost on Results and in reports, which show how many were left out. While Autopilot is already sending evidence for the case the flag can't be set: that submission can't be stopped. Clear the flag to undo it.
